Synopsis: Robert Ryan and Aldo Ray star as soldiers who have to fight a personal war in the midst of the Korean conflict. Lt. Benson (Ryan) is trying to get the remnants of his platoon back to headquarters when he encounters Sgt. Montana (Ray), whose sole concern is getting his shell-shocked colonel (Robert Keith) to safety. The men reluctantly join forces to fight their way home, only to find themselves facing a new battle against the enemy.
